Ty Duperron, Daz COO, Named BIV Forty Under 40 Winner

Business in Vancouver (BIV) has named Ty Duperron, our Chief Operating Officer, a recipient of their 2021 Forty Under 40 award. Each year, BIV highlights outstanding professionals in British Columbia, Canada — all under the age of forty — for their excellence in business, judgment, leadership, and community contribution. And all of us at Daz can attest to Ty’s positive impact with his high energy, creativity, and drive!

Innovating for the Future

In his time here at Daz, Ty has been at the forefront of innovation and inclusion. Using our best-known 3D characters, Victoria and Michael, Ty led efforts to introduce a deaf character and a character in a wheelchair to the Daz shop. His work also led to creating more racially diverse content, our first-ever LGBTQ+ bundle, and more. Ty and his team have collaborated with diverse groups of artists of different races, orientations, and expressions to create realistic assets that represent their communities. This proved to be both informative and enjoyable for everyone at Daz and has been very well received by our customers and artists.

Ty brought this same desire for inclusion to the world of NFTs, leading to our first-ever NFT collection, Non-Fungible People. Consisting of 8,888 expressive and powerful female and non-binary 3D characters, this collection amplifies an underrepresented population in the NFT space. 

Ty and his team were also instrumental in developing a series of products that give back a percentage of the profits to worthwhile causes. They’ve highlighted a number of organizations, including Red Cross, Action Against Hunger, Movember, Stop AAPI Hate, and more.

Volunteer Efforts

As a company, we’re proud of Ty and his contributions to the 3D realm, but his involvement also extends to volunteer efforts in his community. Ty and his partner, Danielle, don’t shy away from giving back to their community and charitable organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Society. He also joins community cleanups, speaks to students at local schools, and is a proud member of the BC Tech Association, DigiBC, and International Game Developers Association.
