How to cut?

Not sure how to ask this question...

I am using DAZ 4.6 and Genesis 2 ( Freak 5 ) figure.

I found a few leather jacket's I like but want to know if there is a way to cut off the sleeves without going to another program. Is there a way inside DAZ to do this?

Thanks

I think you mean Genesis instead of Genesis 2? Freak 5 is a Generation 5 figure, and based on Genesis (the original one)

You can select Polygons in the jacket inside DAZ Studio with the Polygon Group Editor, and that will create a surface area, which you can then make transparent in the Surfaces pane. You could also do it, by taking the texture into Photoshop or similar, and creating a Transparency map. It wont look good either way if you can see into the sleeve, as the polygons will be one-sided.

Sometimes you can get lucky and the polygon or group stops at where the seam of the sleeve would be. In this case it's easier to just go into the scene tab, find the jacket and expand it's tree until you find the arms for the jacket, then click the eyeball to hide them from the scene.

I found a morph that hides the sleeves for M4 Coat from ShareCG.

But I managed to figure out how to work with the Polygons also! Might come in handy for some things in the future.

Thank you all for the help. Everyone is so patient, nice and helpful!
