Emotions Expressions work on Vic 9 but not on generic Gen 9 ?

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

just tried to apply the new emotions to a generic Gen 9 figure but nothing happens

trying the same on an Vic 9 works fine

did i miss something, product description just says Gen 9, nothing there about being Vic9 specific

    It's working for me, even with the expressions in a separate content directory from base G9.  Restart DS, I guess.

    Restart does it and they are amazing
