At My Wit's End (Menu Problems)

I'd appreciate some helpful advice about a problem I've experienced frequently over the years.  I've lost count the number of times I've customized my DAZ menu only to have an update or fix totally bung it all up.  I've searched the forums and the recommendations haven't helped me--I've searched for my personalized menu files, found them, but have been unable to restore them to their working state.

I'll provide a specific example.  I created a specific submenu for G8 Zero Pose and Face-to-Face Autopose Arms, which resides in the Favorites menu.  The other submenus there (Turbo Loader, Camera Doctor, etc.) were auto-generated by their respective scripts and seem to have survived the menu restructure. My customized submenus now show a small pixel where the content used to exist.  Video of above example: https://imgur.com/a/JxB8Hkt

This continued problem has dogged me every time I've customized my menu and has made me extremly reluctance to create a workflow (which many programmers here know is a fundamental requirement for keeping a software solvent).  I'm getting fed up and demoralized, but I truly don't want to be.  Any help towards a successful resolution would be greatly valued.

Normally that "menu item with black pixel" means that: You ever save a Layout... then for some reason you've deleted or lost the Custom Actions related to those "sub-menus" under the "menu item with a black pixel ".  After you load the saved layout, you see that issue... Just press F3 to have a check.

You may find something like those lines initiated with " ?? " as below... then you expand "Custom" node on the left, you won't find the relevant Custom Actions in there.

If you can find the Custom Actions, fortunately, just drag them to that "menu item" and save a Layout again.
