Strange as it may seem, they were quadruplets, born in the fading light of a dying city. They were raised by their father, who taught them a way of life that would, hopefully, guarantee their survival.

Though he passed away long ago, they still live by his lessons, in a section of the 'new city' called Station 57, a section of the city which houses the militia, the protectors. They were not the only group of women there, but they were unique in that they ran side-by-side with the men, as others wouldn't. For each of their unique strengths, they were given new names; The Black Widow, Earth Mother, The Steel Trap and The Stone Maiden.

They wore these names like badges and fashioned their uniforms to reflect their new names. And as they went into the night you might hear a child whispering, in a kind of chant, their names over and over knowing, that these 4 will save the city from total darkness.
