I've been practicng making my own skins this past year or so but all of what I've been learning is self taught. I've never asked for advice or done any tutorials. To be honest. I don't even know where to look for that kind of information. Type in google > How to make skin > leads to turorials on how to polypaint a real persons face onto the UV. That's not my goal. I want this to literally be painted. No real photo's... Like a real painting, only its a UV map. Right now I'm working painted texture in zbrush texturing. I have not made the eye brows or eye lashes or anything like that yet. My goal here is to ask for tips. Small things I might want to remember. Like one thing I know is true is that the skin is never one single color. Its a combination of reds, browns, off whites and yellows. Finger tips are usually more red. Ect. If anyone has any tips for me. Don't assume I already know. Do please tell. :)

PS I know this looks like butt. That's why I'm asking for tips.

Angel - Wings, I like the goal.  I'll probably no help as I haven't done anything like that.  I've mostly just played around with modifying merchant resource skins to look more unique by adding flaws and changing tones.  Have you looked into a program like Filter Forge or 3D Blacksmith where you can create your own textures and use those to paint onto your uv?  I have Filter Forge and several people have done skin type texture filters.  One thing I like about FF is that you can have access to everyone else's filters or make your own.  I don't have 3D Blacksmith or any of the other products like that because I was able to get FF cheaper.

You may want to talk to Divamakeup.  Hopefully, she'll pop in, but I know she has been working on something similar.  I'm not sure how much she has done from scratch or how much she used an underlying skin.  She's a great 2D artist coming into 3D so she has some great 2D skills that she might be able to share with you.  Good luck.

Image was removed. ? o.o That was a super tame image too... Nothing was shown... There wasnt even stuff to show if I wanted to.

If I can't show the work on a skin I'm creating even though it has no genitillia at all. What's the point of this place? I mean anyone who has ever loaded Genesis has seen what I posted and more then likey, more graphic stuff. If I can't show what I'm working on this is moot pointless thread. lol... Literally anyone who has ever downloaded Daz has seen the skin of G3F.... How do you work together on stuff like this when we live in denial?... I guess we don't. I'll go some place else that is a little more down to earth. :/

You can crop the image, or put a swimsuit on the figure.

Crop the image? Richard I like you n all, but your not seeing the big picture. In order for people to help me they need to be able to see what I'm working on. Like I said I'll go else where and get tips. There really needs to be a place where artists can go that don't try so hard to not offend the one mom, who gets offended by everything she sees. lol.. specially when it comes to art... On a Art website.... On the forums of an art website where artists mingle and trade idea's. I mean I wanna know whos really hanging around here, thats looking to get offended by... skin ... when we are 3D artists and we have to deal with these things in order to make art. Cause who ever that is... Their in the wrong place.

I can buy this product from daz http://www.daz3d.com/mrl-ling

But if I show this product at daz in its true form. It's against the rules.

Do you not see how chronologically flawed it is for an offical company refuse to acknowledge and discuss their own products, or similar products?

If McDonalds refused to discuss the ingredients in hamburgers they sell to their customers... It would be pretty silly, wouldnt it?

I'm not saying you all should change your rules. But I'm saying you should make an adults only Subforum so that we can take care of busniess without offending the easily offended.

I would suggest using a deviantArts account as they have flags for nudity.  Others do that and then just link to that page.
