Static Spheres

A sphere is created from the menu bar. A material is selected. Animation is applied to spin the sphere. The wire frame spins as expected. That spin is not always reflected in the preview animation nor the final render. The materials are just static as thouugh it were a still image. Sometime it works and sometiimes it doesn't.

How do I get a simple spinning globe everytime?

    Whichever material you choose, an important setting for it (especially when doing animation) is how the material is mapped onto the object.

    If your object moves but the material stays still, it's set to "world space mapping". It needs to be set to "Object space mapping". (See attached screen grab)
