Watch it in 4K - or even better, your VR helmet

Friday August 26th 2016 i should post on my (very safe and wonderfull ) site

a kit of props, scripts and presets which let you render Youtube-360 videos in Daz Studio !

Since it's all in Daz Studio it means it's Mac Compatible ! (for a change )

the images can also be posted on Facebook and displayed in the Facebook VR viewer

https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts7/mcjvrkit

and i think it won't be much harder to make Stereovision ones,

which really increase depth perception when using VR visors

    The Kit is now Online

It even supports Daz Studio 1.8 and 2.3

Consider it a Beta for this weekend

Saturday i'll probably improve the manual, and conduct some tests and fix bugs, so if you download it now, come back Monday for the ~final~ version

there's also a sort of diary/tutorial for DS 1.8 here

i'll add buttons to the one script of this Kit

so you wont have to browse through your poser/Daz content

1 button to setup the 2 cameras and biconvex mirror ( used for filming your scene as pairs of fisheye renders )

1 button to setup the camera + mcjRemapAndStitch prop ( used to convert the pairs of fisheye renders into one equirectangular image )

As usual Mcasual pull off another feat!

I'm just gonna wrap my head 360 in spherical to fathom the awesomeness of this latest invention of yours!

And nice music choice, mod surreal style!

@mCasual, if we don't want the VR 3D effect (ie. only use one camera), would this work better than your previous 360 camera release? :)

  • Love to try this but windows 10 wont allow download from the site (says its not safe) :(.

I tried from an earlier windows computer but malware was detected.  Is there anywhere else I can try to download it?

the previous versions had you render something like 64 tiles and there was a more complicated stitching process

this version you do 2 renders 1 is for the sky dome the other is for the ... lets call it the floor dome

so that's just like an environment sphere or most Youtube-360 videos, 1 point of view

Stereovision ( 2 eyes, 2 point-of-view ) this system doesnt work, to make stereovision and 360, you have to use Blender and special extensions

( intuitively one would think, easy, just render 4 fisheye images ... but it doesnt work !! the stereovision would work for objects right in front of you

and the stereovision would totally not-work when looking laterally,

if i understood well the blender system renders thousands of 1-pixel-wide stereoscopic images and create the 1 environment sphere image

    ---

note that mcjTeleBlender helps you export a to Blender a rozen Daz Scene or a sequence of frozen daz scenes in the case of animations

    ---

    stereoscopic VR 360

( includes some explanations about Blender rendering this )

    monoscopic VR 360

there's really zero chances that this contains malware

you'll have to give Windows10 the okay

the big important file is this one

    https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts7/mcjvrkit/mcjVRKit.zip?attredirects=0&d=1

it contains only Poser/Daz studio files, nothing that can actually "run", no executable programs, no msdos/windows scripts

    ----

the less important one which is more susceptible to be feared to be dangerous ( but is not since i wrote it ) is

    MCJEQUIFORFACEBOOK.BAT

i packaged it inside the zip file MCJEQUIFORFACEBOOK.BAT.ZIP in the hope it would help people download it

this file is only needed if you want to make the photosphere usable on your facebook timeline

if you read the manual page i explained how you can write MCJEQUIFORFACEBOOK.BAT using a text editor in about 5 minutes

This is very cool indeed. Thank you so much for sharing it, and for the clear instructions. I'm trying it now and it works great. One additional thing I needed to do for Iray was to set the headlamp to off on each of the cameras. Because I was using HDR lighting, the headlamps defaulted to on were creating white rectangle artefacts in the renders.

that may explain the orbs i was seeing in some of my renders

sometimes i create a point light and turn its visibility to off or set its intensity to 0, to avoid the scene's default lighting which is used when no lights are in the scene

    ---

here's a script that will turn all camera headlights off in a scene

    minor update update update

i added 2 missing texture images in the zip installation package

the default images for the remap-and-stitch prop

which, anyway, you are supposed to replace with your rendered fisheye images

    ---

in other news the public-beta version of Daz Studio 4 ( unless it was released? ) contains a spherical render camera

so you could use that instead of my vrkit

though maybe this camera only works for iRay renders
