What Would You Do?
Hi All,
I have a question for you:
Ok, it's Halloween. You're walking your dog through a forest and you notice a small uplift of smoke in the distance. With your dog at your side you head toward the smoke and turn into an opening when... boom, you freeze. The image below is now right infront of you. Before you have a chance to turn, the demon at the piano faces you and says in an unearthly tone..."Good afternoon friend. Please don't be alarmed, I mean you no harm." Your dog turns frantic, barking and snapping, tugging at his leash. You try to calm him and the demon smiles, nods his head. Your dog instantly calms, like something had taken him over. He sits beside you, stares at the demon - head still. "I have a proposition for you, oh newly found one. If you stay and listen to a musical rendition I've written, you may take the money from the floor as payment for your time. However, if you choose to leave, I'm afraid your dog will remain and you will never see him again." Your dog stands, saunters over to the demon and sits beside him, eyes glistening with tears. "I must warn you, once you've heard this particular piece of music, you will never be the same again."
The question is: What do you do?

I'm not giving my dog up to anyone. Or anything lol.
Hi Sonja. That's the thing about ransom, it's very cruel. I suppose in this particular scenario, the victim needs to decide if what they do, is more important than who they are.
Pretty sure I could never leave the dog. Though how the demon would be able to talk to me for all the hysterical screaming I don't know.
Well, I feel that if I own an animal its my responsibility. To take care of it, protect it and keep it safe. The dog doesn't suffer because of my circumstances. Although between Khory's screaming and my screaming the dog may want to stay with the demon anyway lol.
No dog left behind.
Save the dog and deal with what-ever state we're left in -- Surely that's the right thing to do because it's our own actions that define us. Let's face it, it could be a trick question anyway if it's come from a demon.
I'd stay with the dog - it's only going to be a matter of minutes before all those forest fires take hold and none of us are getting out anyway. And stop that screaming - I can't hear the music :)
Stay with the dog. No question.
