Cichy's renders

I've made the creature prop in zbrush what you guys think? Also, if anyone has experiance with zbrush maybe you can help me out. I made a uv and displacment map but the detail on the skin although present in zbrush did not translate into Daz. Any idea why?

Wow that's really cool!  I have zero experience with Zbrush though so can't help there at all.

Cool looking critter.  I've just started playing with Sculptris a little bit and haven't even gotten to the texturing part so I'm no help, I'm afraid.

edit:  you may want to check out Novica's Zbrush thread.  If she doesn't have the answer, maybe you could ask her?

What an amazing creature already even before the fixes

I will looking forward to seeing the fixed one.

I know I for one would love to have him/her for my renders laugh

I am sure it is going to be amazing once it is all done yes

  • Ok so this is a sculpt I've been working on for a while now. Just did a quick render with no lights. What do you guys think? Still trying to learn how to properly UV map and set up models, hopefuly one day I can make it available to people. I can sculpt fairly well but the technical stuff is making me want to tear my hair out.

Looks great!  Love these kinds of critters and he(she?)looks really good!

  • While I still need to get around to rigging the dragon I've been trying my luck with some other designs.

Planning on making a whole outfit but so far I think I like the helmet. Probably going to add more detail and panel lines. What do you guys think? Could use some critique

  • So lately I've downloaded a marvelous designer trial and made this. I know there's a similiar suit floating around there but I made this one from scratch. Let me know what you think :)

Nice!  Looks like everything fits well.

  • Ty Ice!

I've been doing some more work. Still ways to go but hopefully when I'm done I will try to get this outfit in store. Still very early but testing for more ideas how to improve it and texture it. I wanted to make a ronin inspired outfit. My plan is to refine this and add some bandages around the forearm, and katanas offcourse :) What you guys think?

I actually like the bandage like top on this.  There is a texturing thread here in the art studio that Destiny's Garden started that might be helpful in the texturing department

  • Yeah it still needs to be way more refined sculpting wise before I texture it again. There needs to be some more folds, and the bandages need to look better. I just threw some stuff on there to gauge if the outfit will look better with a shinny silk look or should I go for something more cotton/ragged.

Added a glove and testing different set of textures. I managed to make a mess with the top bandages so I need to fix that. It will still need weight mapping and morphs.

I like them both actually, you could do a more textured fabric for a more "commoner" feel (if that makes sense) and use a silky material for a more prosperous feel.

  • Been messing around with sculpting hard surfaces and made this helmet. I've made it available on my DA page here: http://cichy25.deviantart.com/art/Helmet-Freebie-665397338

  • You've been doing some really cool stuff!  I like how your creature turned out.  I like the blue and red outfit a lot.  Nice work.

    thx so much!

I've been working on some more stuff. Finally got around to sculptin this helmet, I have a plan for a whole outfit and recently I purchased substance painter. I'm having an issue with pixelated lines around polygroups when I paint with color selection. Has any of you dealt with this program? I'm so lost at the moment with what can be done about it.
