Slowly but surely, my first renders are beginning to take shape.
And my guys (I mostly do male renders) need a place to stay, so here they are ^^
Enjoy and comments or thoughts are most welcome :)

Nice use of shadow on the figure. Did you do postwork on the picture? If this was just DS or poser, how did you do the lightning bolt effect on his hand?

Oh hi!
I used DAZ 4.5 and did some postwork in Gimp on the contrast and smudge away some little imperfections.
The lightening in the hand is the free Atmospherics - Lightning at RDNA.
I changed the color in the parameters tab and changed the size.
Also I rotated it so the thicker beginning of the bolt is hidden behind the hand, you are actually looking from under the bolt.

I got some great advices on the newbie forum to get more depth in the background.

Thanks for stopping by! ^^

Rockstar!
The same as the other one, all done in DAZ 4.5.
Only I haven't done any postwork here as I was happy how the contrast worked out.
I needed to resize it for the forum though.
To achieve a more full look on the hair I added it twice.
The second one I morphed and scaled just a bit so the strands would show.

Dude!

Your work is totally awesome :bug: Two very different settings and vibes but your style comes through and technique is awesome :cheese:

The spellcaster (who could be Lightning Lad/Lord/Live Wire with some re-tooling  ) has a classic fantasy art painterly vibe. The Rockstar (who has a MiG Ayesa vibe imho) is grounded in reality and attention to detail: displacement maps, lighting, compostion make it pop and rock

Am following this thread :-P

Looking very good Estroyer - theres really nothing 'newbie-ish' about your renders at all. :)

The lighting is excellent and your M5 characters look very unique, and almost alive. I'll be following this thread for sure!

Have been sick a lot and the combination of the holidays has left me little time for rendering.
I made this one for the Michael initiative thread here on the forum.
I want to wish everyone a happy new year!!!

I really need to keep this updated.
It's a nice way to see my own progression!
These are two very recent ones and the one with the cat in it I made for a contest here on the forum.
Gonna dig on my harddrive to see what else I have that's worth sharing ^^

Nice work. Really like the dof in the picture above, was that one a lux render?

Thanks for visiting :D
Yes it is, I love love love that little bit of software!
I did had to get used to the real-life light behaviour in comparison to 3D delight where I had some tricks to manipulate the light but that didn't work out at all in the Luxus software so I needed to get used to it at first.
In that render I let the DOF focus on the eyes.
I am full of ideas but my household needs some attention now ><

The bad kitty scene is.. so good and so funny, cats can so calmly go to sleep after wreaking havoc.

Oh wow, I just found this old thread of mine and I can see the progress I made so far!
Can't believe how much has happened in the past years...
I've made some awesome new friends in the 3D community and got to know some great artists and vendors <3
Getting into 3D is one of the best things that has happened to me, artist wise.
I had the honor of becoming a promo artist and got to work with some very creative and dear people.
I think it's fun to post some of my more recent work to show you the progress I made :D

Although of course I love the horse, I also like the open doors with the garden bench. It's so simple but powerful in the feelings it evokes. Beautiful work- as always :)

Wonderful to see some of your latest, Estroyer. I'm drawn especially to the horse too, such a lovely image of nature's beauty and not something we see enough of with so many people preferring female portraiture. That said, your human character work is also great and I love the girl reading, and the one in the rain too. Great work all round and congratulations on your promo artist work.

Nicely done! Can't tell which one I like best! But the guy with the hatchet on the farm and the manga/anime battle scene are eye-catching. Great work here!

Aww Novica, great to see you hopping by <3
Thanks for the sweet comments :D
And thank you Jindi, I also have a huge soft spot for male characters.
I love Darius that came out for the March madness, but we need a new floor for our house, so no shopping for me this year's March Madness ><
SereneNight, I hadn't done a farm boy slash lumberjack before, so it was somewhat of a challenge :) Great you're liking it ^^

I'll be spamming some more and then it's off to dreamland again!
(I say we petition for 48-hour days!)
Some of these promo renders also have stuff from DAZ vendors (also the ones I already posted before) can you spot them? :D
