I don't post much images on the forums, but as I mostly render single character portrait style renders, I'd like to contribute with a few of my gallery images. If they don't meet the standards for this thread's purpose, please feel free to ignore them.

Also, to everyone- it doesn't matter if one has been rendered several times, particularly if they're mine lol- I'll probably just replace mine with yours if they're better. Some of these are from before Iray and not so great, but they're all we've got for now.
A question... What if a character only have 3delight mats ? Do we just throw on Iray uber base and do an iray render or should we just render as is in 3delight ?
Thank you for your kind comment. I was particularly happy with that one. I was happy with the raw render, but the film emulation really brought it to life for me.

@fastbike1 Oh no, your other one is lit just fine! By reasonably lit, I meant we don't really need dark, night renders where details of the face aren't shown. Yours is perfectly fine and love it! @isidorn, got all yours added. Quite lovely, want more! Adding yours now @escrandall She's quite lovely. Lighting is wonderful!
BTW, you folks can also suggest renders from around the forums, they don't have to be yours- we're calling attention to renders of the products to help buyers make decisions and help the PAs with sales, so if you see a good render, let us know.

To those, like Ice Dragon Art, who are wading into the deep, dark waters of documenting Victoria 4 characters, I admire your courage and resolve. I myself have 227 purchased characters and 844 free characters for the figure in my collection, not counting well over a hundred more for the base figure morphs like Aiko 4, Stephanie 4, The Girl 4 and She Freak 4. And I know that I don't have them all, especially in the purchased category. Mind boggling.
So..... dive in! I'm working on Genesis 3 and working my way back. I won't get to generation 4 for a VERY long time.
Isidorn- your Shiloh is very good- thanks! Indexed, all caught up. This week is hectic with out of town family coming so this will be sporadic this week. Please remember to keep an eye out for good renders of characters, they don't have to be yours- as long as the character is identified we can index it. I'm still in thread 6 of my art studio threads, not going back any farther than that (my renders were so-so, but with GenX and Iray I'll be re-doing a lot of mine.) 3DL and older renders are totally fine, we need those too- mine just weren't as good as what I'll be revisiting to test for my book, so might as well focus on that.

Ha! I'm not sure that I have the courage and resolve.
I actually do have renders of all of them on my hard drive, a "little" project that I undertook a few years ago in order to both document the figures visually and facilitate choosing between them when the need arose. However, I cannot post or link to them as they were created exclusively for my own benefit and would not pass the forum TOS, as they are unclothed! For anyone interested, when I began I had the option of merely using the promo images available, rather than creating my own renders, but I was interested in creating renders that could be readily and easily compared, focusing entirely on the characters themselves. As a consequence, I came up with a standardized scene that used a simple, more-or-less neutral background, a relatively simple portrait light setup, a standard pose and camera orientation and standard render settings. These parameters were maintained throughout the entire series. One thing that I also did, was to choose a standard hair to use on all the characters that did not obscure the facial features, with the same hair colour used for all. I found the addition of hair tended to frame and highlight the features better rather than leaving the figure bald, which was unlikely to be the case in use. I avoided focusing too much on the textures, especially where custom settings were required, as it was the character morphs I was largely concerned with. Textures were a separate issue and were more-or-less portable, being easily applied to any morph if I wished.
I will certainly consider the gauntlet that you have thrown down, but I am reluctant to commit to redoing them all with clothes on (yikes!). We'll see. My gallery will definitely grow like topsy if I do!

@SixDs- sounds like a project! I can see why you did it that way though, it's a great reference. I try to use the original materials too when showing out of the box. Anything you want to contribute will be wonderful.
I'm doing a few here and there, with hair and a shirt on, some are full length with outfits. Keeping it simple, no scenes for these, and eventually I'll go back and reshoot quite a few of these "oldies." Trying to just get my Thread 6 done and indexed then will start back in on the rendering.
Most of my character test renders are pretty simple scenes unless a particular character happens to really catch my attention. I am trying to just go down the list as far as next character on list with next hair on list with next clothing item on the list kind of thing. But once I start I tend to get carried away lol and if I think a hair doesn't look right on the character well, then I have to go hunt one down that suits better.... and on and on lol.
