Genesis figure not loading in Poser Pro 2012

I have purchased and installed DSON and the Genesis Starter Essentials

I started up Poser, found the items in the library and clicked to load the genesis figure.

A dialog comes up and gives progress searching for stuff, building a cache, etc. and the process completes with no error.

The Hierarchy menu shows a figure, but there is no character mesh on the screen. I changed display to wire frame to be sure, and there is nothing there.

Shut down poser without saving the scene, and started again. This time, I tried to load the basic female, and had the same result.

The hierarchy palette show all the expected info, but nothing is in the scene.

Windows 7 64-bit,
Poser Pro 2012, SR3

any ideas as to why this is not working?

thanks in advance.

Are you using an external runtime?

The runtime is in the default location recommended by the installer program.

There does not seem to be much difference between "internal" or "external" runtimes these days. the poser default runtime is in the documents folder, as are my other runtimes.

I tried a custom install, but was offered no way to specify where to install other than choosing from a list of options, both inside a DAZ 3D folder.

    The installed location documents/DaZ 3D/Studio3/content

I have added the runtime in this folder to poser.

Note that I ounce had both Studio 3 and 4 installed, but had removed them. Daz Studio is not required to use genesis in Poser, is it?

    Take care,

by external, i meant that your runtime was not in your Poser Pro 2012 folder in your Program files.

I had a lot of trouble getting DSON and Genesis working right in Poser. Something I found fixed many of the issues was this:

    Go to Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2012\Runtime\Python

find the Addons folder, copy that, then go to where ever your runtime is on your computer, go to Runtime\Python and paste the Addons folder there.

That little trick fixed so many DSON issues for me it isnt funny.

Thanks for you suggestion, but still no joy.

Here's what all I have done. I re-ran the Genesis Starter essentials installer, selecting the custom option and successfully installed this to my "standard" poser run time. This is the Poserpro 2012 content run time that the smith micro installer created in my documents, which is standard for vista, and windows 7 machines. Also reinstalled tthe genesis starter essentials Poser CF to the same location.

I also copied the add ons folder to this run time as you suggested.

Started Poser, and found the content listed in my run time as expected.

chose the basic male to load. DSON dialogs went through their process and apparently completed successfully.

Attached it what I see. I've selected a body part ,and the direct manipulator shows, but there is no mesh on the stage.

I guess I'd better try contacting tech support.

    thanks.

I'm having the same issue. Did you ever get a solution?

There were some improvements to DSON not too long ago, try re-downloading and reinstalling. Install it to your main Poser location, then if you have any external runtimes, copy the DSON files from the main Poser program and paste them to the external runtime.

You can also try D3D's DSON Loader, that has been working really well for me for loading clothes and accessories for Genesis
