Wow what a beautiful, breathtaking scene!  Are these iray renders? Some of them look like photos... (I hate to admit it, but this model is the closest I will ever get to visiting such a place,,, still, it's always nice to dream :)  Looking forward to the release... -Cathy

Thanks Cathy. Yes, they're all Iray renders

  • Please tell me this has an interior?

No, it would be hardly usable.... I'm already at 750,000 polys not even including the trees and plants.Trees are 90,000 polys each....

I might do a lodge interior later on.

Wow, this is stunning! Could have used this at Christmas time, LOL.

two concerns, first off the resource hit since you say it's already at 750k of polys. Most users will want to add figures, clothing and maybe even some vehicles to the scene. Any chance you could test these types of scenarios before release/

Secondly,  for such a heavy winter scene, there doesn't seem to be any snow on the trees.

Don't suppose a summer set would be possible later on down the road?

This looks awesome!  Love that you gave a frozen pond out front,  for some hockey and figure skating.

  • This really looks pretty!  I love all of the rustic architectural features.

It looks gorgeous, though a summertime version would be a lot more useful for me.  Is that a small stream feeding the pond or is it a stand-alone watering hole?

    Thank you fo your feedback!

Since this is an Iray only set, polycount is not "too much" of a worry.

There are over 300 instances of trees and plants, so it takes some time redering this scene in Iray, but it can handle it  (I don't really have an up to speed rig, but after about half an hour it kicks in, and it renders in abouut an hour, with really decent quality)

As or the pine tree color... It's really just a 128x128 map to change to make the leaves frosty white. I tried it but the pictures looked so white and lacked so much contrast

  • Very nice! Where is the ski lift laugh

  • Looks like a great set.

With a suitable interior, this makes for great storytelling!

Gorgeous. Can the snow be turned off? There's a summer version right there. (with a different material on the lake)
