    OMG I love this concept!  Sooo appropriate!

    You did a great job fitting the ruined cottage into your background.

    @IceDragonArt

    Thank you. The cottage isn't perfect and the DOF doesn't quite tie it into the background but it worked better than I thought it would.

    I rendered the scene again with just the HDRI, all other lights are off, and set it back to defaults.

    Love your latest renders, esp the sci fi.  Are the neat colorful renders (such as the swan and snow) done with something like tonal rage?  Or are you using individual colored lights?  Either way, awesome effects.

  • FishtalesFishtales Posts: 6,119

    @Worlds_Edge

    The snow only has the HDRI and a Distant Light but I changed the refraction index and weight for the snow which gives it the blueish tinge. The Swan image is as it comes except the HDRI is one I made in Bryce, the swan I made Emissive and I increased the lumens on the Emissive lights which are those gold 'flowers'.

    Love the reflections on the water in the Planet Glise render and the point of view on the sci fi render.  My question is, is the wolf at the door friendly?  or is he going to sneak in and wreak havoc lol.

    Some really nice renders! Is the SF rendered in 3DL or Iray? That's a stardome from Digivault, right? Or did you convert it somehow?

    Love the wolf too:)

  • FishtalesFishtales Posts: 6,119

    @Sven Dullah

    All renders are Iray. I load the stardome, use the HDRI in the Environment Dome and then delete the stardome from the scene.

    I redid the last render. I had used an emissive plane at the side to fill in the light on the front of the figures. I didn't like the result so deleted it and used the Exif settings for the background image and entered them into the camera and Tone Mapping settings which worked much better.

    The second one is definitely an improvement.  Is it weird that I always feel sorry for the beasties?

    Well.  That's a simple and elegant solution.

    I didn't realize it could be that simple.  I have a ton of skydomes that are basically useless because the other conversion process just takes too long.

    @IceDragonArt

    Not all the images used in a Skydome will work but it is always worth trying :)

    This one uses my own image as a Background, Noggin's Crow and Squirrels by AM. I also used four Matte objects to try and get them to look as if they are in the image and not sitting in top :)
