Icon for custom content folder?

marblemarble Posts: 7,500

I often save scenes, poses, characters, materials, etc. in folders which I create when I save. The folder shows in my content (I do not use Smart Content) but I'd like it to have an icon like those for the PA created characters. How would I do that? Also, how do I add images inline in this forum?

You make a 91x91 .png and name it the same as the folder. If you want to get fancy, make a 256x256 .png and name it name .tip.png So say you have the folder called Marble. The 91x91 should be named Marble.png and the 256x256 one should be named Marble.tip.png

Oh, in case it wasn't obvious, the png files need to be in the same directory as the folder. If you try it with daz open and want to check out the results, be sure to refresh the directory in the library after you place the png and it will show in library. Quicker than closing and opening studio back up.

Excellent :) Thank you though I should kick myself for not remembering that. Old age, memory not reliable.

No problem. I remake icons for like 90% of my content, so I got it prettymuch memorized into a reflex by now lol. I like to see what stuff actually looks like without loading it up :P

Speaking of icons, I'm trying to find the full set of the transparent .png icons for the default categories in Daz Studio. I've attached a screen grab showing what I mean. For some reason, I only see a few of these icons in a content directory that I don't even use. I want them applied to the directory I do use, but I can't find them in either my content directory nor in my Daz Studio application folder (and subfolders). I assumed I could use these icons in the same fashion that vendors do for displaying their own icons in the Content tab.

Those are for Poser content directories, not sure if they even exist as seperate files.

That's too bad. Still, the app itself should be holding them somewhere. I might just take a screenshot of them and create my own .png files for them, unless anyone knows someone who created icons for the common folders in Daz Studio?

EDIT: Just as a test, I added folders to the Runtime folder to match the Poser directory structure, then refreshed the Content directory in Daz Studio, and viola!!--- new icons, lol.

Poser has 10 categories, but Daz only gave me 7 icons. So Daz Studio doesn't have icons for Figures, Hands, or Expressions.

Daz Studio doesn't show empty libraries, it does have icons for them once they have content. Note that thse are not "categories", they are aliases for certain foldes in [content directory]/Runtime/Libraries/
