I keep getting an error trying to install Daz3D Studio 4.5

I'm not entirely sure what is happening. I've used DAZ before, but this is a new partition on my computer and since it's faster I wanted to do the more...memory eating projects on this side. Anyway, I purchased and downloaded 4.5 win32, but when I try to open it to install I see the DAZ logo, and then an error comes up.

There has been an error.
Error running C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\dzcoreutil.exe -dvs64 : child killed: unknown signal

So...what is going on?

    What AV are you running?

That message usually means that something external has stopped the install process, mid stride, so to speak.

I'm currently not running anything. I usually use Avast, but I just got everything up and running not long ago, so I haven't even made it that far yet. So whatever AV I have it's just default with windows.

Just as a note, I'm running XP SP3.

This is probably something to do with the Visualc++ and a missing .dll. as talked about in this thread

you need to go here, and download

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=26347

you will need the vcredist_x86.EXE which is the 32 bit version.

Thanks, Cho...that's usually my 'second' step...Check AV, then the Visual C runtimes...if neither of those fix it...then reinstall Windows, because it's some other system level file that's messed up.

Okay. I downloaded what you told me to and so far nothing has changed. I'm currently running the Dependency Walker, and it says DWMAPI.DLL file cannot be found. At this point I'm lost again.

    EDIT:

Okay, I fixed that, but I still have another error. This one isn't as straightforward...or maybe it is and I'm just not computer savvy enough to see it. XP

This is what dependency walker is telling me now.

Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.

At this point, as you say your are not running any AV, I would suggest that you Download something like Malwarebytes, and do a scan, because you could even have some malware on your PC which is causing errors

http://www.malwarebytes.org/ There is a free version

I will try that, thank you. I kind of doubt it's going to help though.

    -Sigh-

Did that. It's still giving me that warning and DAZ still won't open. I don't know what else to do. When I look up that error, the instructions just say to ignore that warning because the .exe will fix it upon opening in most cases. Yeah, most doesn't seem to apply here. So I have no idea what to do. I'd really hate to have to revert back to my other partition, it is so slow it'd take me days just to get anything done.

Digging a little deeper...and it appears to be a problem if .NET 3 or 3.5 is not installed/broken install, too. Not just Visual C runtimes.
