A bit of background may be in order for those who have stumbled upon this thread. I happened to come across Novica's thread a while ago and happened to mention that I had compiled a series of standardized character renders of various figures in my collection for my own reference purposes. I was immediately challenged to join in and add to the list. However, my renders, being exclusively for my own use, wouldn't pass the forum TOS. So, I decided to re-do some to add to Novica's list. Since Novica's list is just that, with links to images posted elsewhere, I created this thread to "house" those renders. I didn't want to use my Gallery, as that would mean a whole bunch of relatively similar renders would be marching across the Gallery homepage, and wouldn't necessarily be of general interest due to the fact that they were all a variation on a theme, and not necessarily much to write home about. Rather, the intent was to produce comparative renders of various characters. Enough said.

I have decided to use thumbnails rather than placing the full renders in the body of the post to save space. Just click on any thumbnail to see a larger version. If anyone has any use for any of the images for their personal reference, please feel free to help yourself (just be sure to save the full sized ones, not the thumbs).

Lastly, I have taken the liberty of creating a number of placeholder posts so that most of the images will be at the head of the thread if any comments or discussion ensues. I would expect most folks to get quickly bored wading through them, although I did make some attempt to mix things up a little bit. Think of this as more of a warehouse, or maybe a broom closet, than a gallery.

Now that is truly enough said.

OK, here we go. The following images were all rendered in DAZ Studio 4.9, using Iray (an obvious work-in-progress for me). They are, in order, from left to right:

Genesis 2 Female Characters

The following images of Genesis 2 Female characters were rendered in DAZ Studio 4.9 using the Iray render engine. The textures were converted for Iray using the N.G.S. Anagenesis 2 - Revolution shader utility by Dimension-Z for the skin, and the hair textures were converted for Iray using the UHT2: Ultimate Color shader system by DraagonStorm and SloshWerks. Gotta love them both!

Once again, the images are ordered from left to right as follows:

Victoria 4 Characters

The following images of Victoria 4 characters were rendered in DAZ Studio using either the Iray render engine or the 3Delight render engine. The differences are easily recognizable in the reflections in the mirror in the background, which are much clearer in the Iray renders. The textures for Iray were converted using the N.G.S. Anagenesis 2 - Revolution shader utility by Dimension-Z, and the hair textures were converted for Iray using the UHT2: Ultimate Color shader system by DraagonStorm and SloshWerks.
