Autofit clothing to Genesis, then save?
Okay kinda a silly question here. So when I use Autofit to put clothing from M4 and V4 onto Genesis it runs through a big process that takes a while but then fits it to Genesis. Is there a way to save the clothing setting after it has been fitted to Genesis so I do not have to rerun the autofit, thereby taking less time?
Does that make sense? I am not sure if I explaining it correctly.
Thanks!
Amy

File -> Save As -> Wearables Preset. You can then add the preset in from the smart content menu (by default it goes into Unassigned -> Presets) like you would any other type of clothing, without it having to recalculate everything. This is also a fast way to apply an entire item set onto a character.
Thank you kindly! I figured that there should be an easy way to do this!

For anything you convert to Genesis with Auto fit or Transfer Utility you need to save it as a figure/prop asset and not a wearable preset.
Go "File > Save as > Support asset > Figure/prop asset", that way it gets saved in the right place in the data folder, rather than mixed in with the rest of the junk in the auto_adapted folder, it also saves it from being overwritten the first time you save scene with the original V4/M4 version.
thank much heraldo,, I can remember,, there are wealable preset,, it may useful,, about many case as you said.
then,,,,, Bejaymac,,
if it may happen when I I save auto-fit V4 clothing as scene sub-set?:roll:
Now I check auto-adapted folda,,
there are so many folda and files,, which have saved after auto-fit ,,, or use transfer utility and modify clothings for genesis,,,TT;)
I often stopped work then save them as scene subset, sometimes.
(But,, I felt,, something strange before,, ,, so that usually I save them as figure or prop too
though it is not finished yet)
then if I clear all files in auto-adapted folda,, what may happen? I want to delete them,,^^;
it break my saved scene files?
and I checked about some scene,, after save it as wearable preset,
with original cr2 dress and auto-fitted dress, but it seems not overwrite both files,
I think,,,^^; but I heared same things before,,
so the problems are removed in ds 4.5.1.56 or not ?
How i check them? I want to check,, when the overwriteen may happen,,
hope more detail report pleaaase.:shut:
DS can't use TriAx content without a DSF asset file, so when you auto fit or TU something DS has to write an asset file during the conversion, this goes in the data/auto_adapted/"mesh name_poly count" folder, if you then save it as a scene, scene subset or wearable DS will then add any morphs to that folder as well as creating the DUF file. The problem is that when you use the original Poser file in a scene and save it either as a scene, scene sub or wearable, then the mesh and the morphs gets saved into the exact same folder, and with the exact same file names as your converted version, even a muppet like me knows that's going to cause problems.
Much safer all round to auto fit/TU your content to the default Genesis, and then save it as a figure/prop asset, long before you think about using it in a scene, that way you don't have worry about what happens to it in the auto_adapted folder.
Thank you ,, now I understand,,, yes,, it may happen mix original and subset (auto fitted ) in one scene,,
ya,,, it is best way,, if use auto fit clothing save it as figure and prop first before save the scene.
and it may keep clean my data.
(I want to ask about ,, many files in data/3_0 , and data/4_0_2 ,,too,,
what are these files,,
they seems just mess up,, so, when ds make them,,, I have thought long time before,,
I thought it is for 4.0.3 or ds 3 files, so I may need not,,
then , if I delete them,,, but may happen terrible thing so,,,.stop it^^;,.
But I wait anothe good day to ask them ^^;
thanks much,, bejaymac)
