Merging scenes

Is it possible to control where one scene nurses with another.   Ex.  Scene 1  Michael 7 dressed in armour

Scene 2    battlefield with dragons

Yes. Save both as scene subsets. A subset can load into another scene, so if both are subsets, they can load into each other and merge.

Yes, I do this all of the time.  As Zev0 says save your scene parts as scene subsets to make things easier on yourself.  Per your example, work on your big scene and put everything where you want it and then figure out where your Michael with the armor is going to go.  Make note of those coordinates for the transform tool.  A good way to do this is to put primitive where you think you want your figure moved to make it easier to figure out the transform tools settings.  Then work on your figure with the armor.  Put it in those same coordinates where your primitive was.  Work on your figure and save as scene subset.  Scene subsets merge automatically and should merge without telling DS that you want to merge.

If you work on lighting and other things other than just the armor, an easy way to keep it all together is to highlight everything in your scene subset and Create a new group.  I use this to keep figure lights together and make it easier to move everything if I need to make some fine tuning adjustment with placement.  Save your scene subset.  It should load your figure in exactly the same place where you had it saved.  If you decide to move him, everything that is associated with your figure is grouped together and moves together.

A full scene can also be merged, via the File menu or by right-clicking in a content pane.
