It is a P-40, British & Australians called them "Kittyhawks", Americans called them "Warhawks".

Apparently the Australian troops at Port Moresby also called them "Neverhawks" when they were first of all promised but delayed by their arrival.

Y'all have been posting amazing work.  Keep it up.  Will only comment on the most recent few, but all are tremendous.

@Bunyip - These forest scenes are terrific.  Enough contrast to see the animals clearly.  The tiger is exceptinal, but I'd love to see the bull animated (I am working on a saber tooth tiger to run through a some trees).

@Stezza - Oh, behave!  Nice ouch putting your information on the license plates.

@HeadWax - Haunting update, in a good way.  Stay out of that room!  Really cool revisit.  I've been digging through some of my old challenge entries and thinking how I would change them if I were to do them now.

Test render.  First pass at rigging my toon cave girl and toon saber tooth tiger.  The weightmapping needs adjustment, but I think off to a decent start.

Stacked the comics color GMIC filter with Toon III, but the toon III is dialed down a little bit.  No postwork (want a filter with no postwork so can do an animation with minimum adjustment)

She is gathering berries, and the tiger is ready to pounce

Excellent modeling as usual, Diomede.  I'm looking forward to your animation, and wondering if anyone has done a Carrara animation before using the G'MIC filters.

You might be breaking new ground here!

Edit - sorry, I forgot that Wendy (who else) did some animations with it right off the bat.

    thanks Bunip et Diomede :)

Great shadows on that Bull Bunyip.

And I love the eyeballs on your woman there Ted. Just like the lion's. Must be symbiotic!

Here's a couple of balls. Filter Forge old sketch filter over a fine tuned b and w Oloneo HDR image.

The trick as witgh most filters appears to be to drop down the opacity of the filtered layer quite a lot and combine it with other filters

This is great head wax! Is it me or have you intentionally given the brown pup two left hands?

    Selina

heh, thanks Selina :) you are very observant - the bodies are the little bear ? from the t hree bears one's - I don't think they came with thumbs?

kind of unweildy meshes they are

    Have you seen this book?

    It's full of similar verse

I'm honoured to have a copy.

    https://www.abebooks.com/books/features/google-book/

The Google itself is not a bird but its garden is filled with them. The illustrations are indeed beautiful - full of vibrant color with greens and purples in abundant display.

It's hard to imagine what inspired the likes of the Lesser Nockit, the Lemonsqueezer, the Blue-billed Ork, the Poggle, the Soft-nosed Wollop and the Swank, but Vickers was probably influenced by reports from British adventurers exploring the jungles of the world.
