Carrara 8 pro Issues

Hello all, long time no post. Most of you have probably been through and solved these problems.
I finally got a chance to load C8 pro. ( Its about time ) no thanks to my insane schedule. So far I have only tried to render a document from C7.2pro.

Problems are:
• Have to load serial number every time I open.
• The 64 bit renders slower than the 32 bit. That makes no since.
• Any rendering optimizing tips for 8 would be appreciated.

Working with Version 8.1.1 pro build 12 ( is this the latest version besides the beta )
Computer is 27in iMac 3.4 GHz quad core i7 with 16 gb ram, OSX 10.7.2 (Lion)

Soooooo, what do I do?

Perfect! Your solution for the serial number issue worked great, though going into the terminal is always a scary venture. Thanks
