Correct way to save your work?

So Im new to this, when I work on some and I make a image that I want to come back and pick up where I left off, what do I save it as? I saved several as scenes and when I opened up again the have grey boxes on the people and I couldnt removed them without deleting character

    sounds like your draw style is set to bounding boxes... have you checked that? It's in the upper right of the view screen.

    If you're totally new to 3D there is one nasty gotcha that can bite you. When you make a scene and render it, if you want to save what you've done then you must save both the scene and the render.

    The scene is not an image, it's a description of all the objects, lights, textures etc. that you've loaded. If you only save the scene, you will have to run the render again if you want to see it again.

    The render is not your scene, it's only an image of what one of the cameras in your scene can see. If you only save the render, then your scene will be lost when you close DAZ|Studio.

    What Operating System, and where is your content folder?

    Windows 7 and its in "my documents"
