We have a live webinar this Saturday (15th April) on texturing clothing.

Doing the Chores: Preparing a model for texturing

• Set figure to base resolution, zero pose and morphs, export with collapsed UV tiles; then use an application like UV Mapper Pro to create your own texture templates.

• Take care to isolate separate material zones for better detailing; create a simple UV layered template in .psd format

• Bonus: create custom AO maps with an application like xNormal

Pixel Nudging and Taming: 2D texturing in an image manipulation application

• Add basic patterns, colour fills, pattern fills…

• Add patterns, stitching…. always check back in UV Mapper Pro or DS

• Adjust pattern and fabric flow by hand, line up seams by hand.

Dancing with Pixels: Preparing your 3D model for projection paint texturing

• Create empty white texture templates for the different UV templates…

• Pose your model in the default pose and import it into your projection paint application

Smooth and Seamless: Eliminate texture seams in a 3d application vs texture seam hunting in a 2d app

• Demonstrate painting across seams in Blacksmith

• Load basic texture tile/fill texture and start adding a pattern/structure.

• Additional example of cloning a texture across a seam.
