Total newbie needs help modifying prop
Last week, Patience55 very kindly made for me a prop of an embalming machine/pump for use in morgue/funeral home scenes. The item can be found here: http://www.sharecg.com/v/67192/view/11/Poser/MorgueItemA
When we were discussing the prop during its design, we talked about how I could extend the hose (which in the prop as released is quite short) in Hexagon. I fiddled around with it this morning and was able to get a fairly decent extension on the hose, as seen in the attached image.
What I need to do, however (which we also discussed while the prop was being made), is put an injection device (called an arterial tube) at the end of the hose, as seen here:

(curved)
or:

(straight)
Also, the hose needs to be made posable/movable. I'm a total novice at Hexagon and only worked out how to copy the hose and extend it with the help of instructions provided by Patience55, so any instruction or advice you can give me on how to achieve the above objective will be very welcome.

Try this tutorial and you will be able to do it all! All the videos are on YouTube for free but this tutorial was so good I also bought the video version available for download so I did not have to deal with YouTube's annoying ads.

In the "Profile and Shapes" Tutorial he goes over exactly what you need!

But if you go through the entire tutorial you will be able to do whatever you need including adding the injection device.

That sounds interesting and I'll have a look. However, the problem is that I'm hearing-impaired so I can't make use of the audio portion of video files, and Youtube's captioning is pretty rudimentary at best. Is there something like this that I can read and keep up in my browser to check back to while I'm doing the work? (What I'm saying, in other words, is that it would be more helpful to me to have something written out and illustrated instead of a video file.)

I am not sure how much this will help you but it has written out explanations of the important steps and it shows the Hexagon icons you need to click. It is a little dated, it is from when eovia owned Hexagon, but I do find it helpful especially for beginners.

Hi joea64:)
Did you manage to find a method? Here's one I did - the ref pic isn't all that clear, so don't know if the detail is correct.
I made a circle and extruded, shaping it to the ref pic as it progressed.
If you want the hex file to take a look at the structure, PM me and I'll put it up on 4shared for you:)
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you - I'd be very interested to look at this tube/hose prop, especially if you've developed something that will work with the original morgue-item prop. I haven't really gotten anywhere in Hexagon yet, so if you can include a description of how you did it, that'd be quite helpful. I've PM'ed you.
No problem:)
Sent you a PM with the Hex file and some steps I took - if you need any more info, just holler.
