Hair with Bones

Is there a reason that long hair never has bones? Bones would be useful for posing and animation, but I have never found a hair product with an armature. If you know of one, or if you know why hair cannot be made to follow an armature, please share.
If bony hair could be made, it would be popular!

Long hair does sometimes have bones, at least as long as you aren't using AutoFit to convert to another figure. It tends to depend on the maker.
Hi JStryder, I'll add my voice to yours, I also would like to see more bones added to long hair. Many PAs seem to prefer using morphs for posing. Perhaps rigging bones is more difficult? However if the long hair is rigged with bones then it is much easier to pose realistically if the pose is other than a head upright pose (standard glamour shot). For example most long Hairs with morphs only, just don't work if the figure is hanging upside down or in other less upright poses.
Rigging hair has its own set of annoying quirks, as unless you specifically create the rigging templates ahead of time and test them extensively, the bones actually will become misaligned significantly if the base figure scale is changed after fitting the hair to it.

I believe that one does; I've not bought it yet, but may do; I like Swam's products.
Sadly, hair is an aspect that lets studio down; not the PAs fault, they invariable do a great job.
Yes Nita Hair does have some bones, though sadly no length adjustment except for a small adjustment to the fringe length. Still it is a nice Hair and I love the square cut fringe.
