I got the feeling that the newist verision is compatible here, but since it cost money it's better to ask.

lets say I bought Michael 5, does the morph that requires Michael 2 requires Michael 2 or Michael 2 and higher?

Thanks for your time

Michael 2 is a totally different model with totally different morphs, so items made for Michael 2 will only work with Michael 2, not 3,4 or 5.

That is a short answer, but I could go into a much longer one if you require.

    Hope that helps,
    Barry.

ok, what about things that require Michael 4 is it compatible with Michael 5?

Skin textures for Michael 4 will work with no problem on Genesis/Michael 5. You'll probably need to go to the Surfaces tab and switch the UV set to "Michael 4."

Morphs for Michael 4 won't work on Michael 5 unless you have Genesis Generation X (and Michael4 Morphs++, if the product requires it). For best results, you'll also need the V4 and M4 Shapes for Genesis.

Clothing for Michael 4 will AutoFit to Genesis/Michael 5, but the fit may not be perfect in all cases. Shoes in particular seem to have some problems.

Similarly, Poses for Michael 4 will work, but perhaps not perfectly (they may require manual adjustment).

Hair for Michael 4 can be used on Genesis/Michael 5, but it may require some effort to get it to work. I have a tutorial that covers this: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/5646/

Edited to add: the same applies to Michael 3's hair and poses. Michael 3's skin textures won't work (though they can be converted if you have the right tools...I think this will do it: http://www.daz3d.com/texture-convertor-2-tc2)

To use Michael 3 clothing on Genesis, you'll need the V3 and M3 Shapes. To use Michael 3 morphs on Genesis, you'll need those shapes, plus Genesis Generation X, plus this: http://www.daz3d.com/genx-addon-gen3-for-v3-and-m3

I just bought a few pose and some of them give me a message (isn't installed correctly) after installing them, I reinstall them but no good. I reread them and I found out I have the wrong Freak (need 3 but got 5). some products like leon and the knight says "Compatible 3D Figures: Genesis" and after buying I read the details on top it said for M5. I don't know if that's a mistake or not, but I ain't blaming anyone b/c at the end of the day I am one big noob who's insisting on learning how to swim in the deep end of ocean.

where can I find the different model series?

    Michael's 1 to 4
    Freaks 1 to 4
    Victoria 1 to 4
    hiro series and other models

so on and so on? wish they are on one page. it's not fun spending on something not able to use it. so hopifully someone out there will take some pity on me and throw me a lifesaver, please XD.

    Sorry for the trouble
    Sam

A lot of stuff from before Generation 3 has been "vaulted" and is no longer available. I think some stuff from Generation 3 has been also.

I searched the store for the word "base" and narrowed the results to include only DAZ Originals. Most of what you're looking for can be found among these results: http://www.daz3d.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?cat=1449&dir=asc&order=activated&q=base&x=0&y=0

If anything's missing, you can search in Google for site:daz3d.com plus the name of the product you're looking for...that usually works.
