Visibility mat-pose help

WildlyfeWildlyfe Posts: 92

I have some old products that I want to update to work in DS4, but I am stumped on how to save a partial pose. I assume this is what I need to do. The product has mat poses to change the transparency image only, leaving the textures all the same. They work in Poser, but don't work in DS4. I tried to save as a new material file, but the DUF file isn't visible anywhere for me to select it. The DUF file is in the same folder as the rest of the products mat-pose files. I would save it as a poser mat-pose if I could figure out how to do that. My old poser export script doesn't work anymore.

If you give the .duf file exactly the same name as the Poser file it should be applied when you double-click the poser file, which will have gained a little scroll icon in the top-left corner if you refresh the folder (right-click menu in the Content Library pane).

Thanks for letting me know that renaming the .duf file would work. I almost tried that before. I can now get the pose file to work, but l still have the problem that applying the pose in DS4 replaces the texture map. I want to change only the opacity map and nothing else. Any ideas on how to get that to work? Can you save partial mat poses in DS4?

When saving a preset you should be able to expand the options for the selected surfaces and turn properties off if you don't want them.

I'm a bit different so I could be 100% wrong here. If I am just ignore me, I'll fully understand.

From what I've read what I think you wish to do is just Turn OFF a Mat zone on a figure, but really that is a Hide the Bone on the Figure. Just like Turning off the FOOT of a figure with the Scene Tab eye. If that is your goal that is not done with a Mat File. If that is what you mean I'm sure you can get the help you need. I'm asking this so I can understand your problem. I hope.

Thanks! I didn't notice the expandable options. Works great now.
