Thinking I'd forgotten or never knew that, I went back and and downloaded the Legacy file for Jack Tomalin's Shelter because I still use DS3 (no snickering, please).
However, the zip contains Data, Environments (with DAZ Scenes) and Runtime, and the Runtime folder has Support and Textures.
Nowhere is there an actual figure/model to load -- unless this is meant to be used in addition to one of the other zips.
I be confused!

Legacy format is for DS4.0. The directory data is the geometry files and the UV mapping of an object. Environment/ DAZ scenes are like Poser pp2 or pz3 files. Poser just can't read the dufs but DAZ can read the pp2 and pz3 files.
Ohhhh, okay. So Legacy is for reeeeally old DAZ Studio, back to 4.0. I feel more like a dinosaur every day.

It depends on the item -- for weight-mapped items Legacy is for DS4.0, for non-weight-mapped items it's usually DS3 and DS4.0.
FWIW, I still use D|S3 more than D|S4, and I don't think I've had any problems so far using a Legacy version in D|S3. I usually install both if they're available.
I have the old faceshop 3 something or other, I need the daz 2.2.2.17 lmao anyone know where it is?? the faceshop wont load up in 4.6 rofl no support, I was just learning back then and wasnt into character creation or modeling like I am now but I'm just dying to try it so I know weather or not to invest in the new faceshop, dont want to spend the money if I ent gonna use it should still be free right? cho is gonna kick me right in the knee for this post I just know it!

Download the obj files - those are working in DS.
There is just the one funny aspect: XFrog is reading transmaps the opposite way to Dazstudio/Poser - you will have to load the transmaps in an image editing software and invert black and white.

Thanks very much for reply! I am really quite new so I don´t know what transmaps exactly are and how to invert them so I might as well leave those plants alone if there is this issue. Unless you could give me a quick "How to" guide : ) : D
