Speak to Jonstark about it, he bought it recently while assembling a little render farm. Let me see if I can find the very enlightening link to the discussion we had...
[goes looking for the link]
Found it: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/112451/carrara-not-using-all-of-my-render-nodes-solved/p1
It's a long and very interesting thread about render farming, which machines to buy for it and Jon's experiences with Grid.
Enjoy!
Hmm ... Jon appears to be talking about physical machines all on the same network. I believe I Samuel is asking for a remote solution. Its possible to rent processing power from many sources now, but the applications need to be able to support it.
I remember there were, and perhaps still are some services specifically set up as renderfarms, where one could just hand off a file in the rendering application format and process it, and deliver the rendered frames.
I don't recall ever seing a render service with processing for Carrara, perhaps due to the relatively few users.
