Filters advice?

I’ve been using DS to make comic strips, and I’m trying to get a black and white effect, similar to the art in Sin City (not greyscale, but blocks of black and white). At the moment I’m putting the pictures I make into a free art package called TwistedBrush and applying filters to try to achieve this. I’m using this package because I heard it was easier to use than other similar free software and I’m assuming its filters are similar to things like Photoshop and so on. So, any advice on which filters would get the effect I want? I’ve been experimenting with them, but the number of options can be a bit overwhelming.

    I have never heard of TwistedBrush, but the packages that most people use here are The Gimp (Free) or Photoshop. Gimp can use Photoshop brushes as well.

    I am not trying to put you off, but if I were you, I would try there first, you are more likely to get an answer.

    Cheers, I'll have a look at that.

    I thought about Gimp, but not sure about learning yet another software package, due to the time it takes.
