Editing individual parts of clothing

Can anyone help me on how to edit parts of my characters outfit. I was able to do it on the previous DAZ. I'm using the 4.9 version. I need to change the color of like e.g. pants, bracers etc...

select the Surface Selection Tool at the top of your screen and click the part. Then look to your Surfaces tab for all the customization controls you could need. Change all the surface settings including but not limited to; texture map, shine, gloss, glow, bump, normals, tiling and much more.
