Gen 2 characters are missing textures/mats (different format?) that are required by the base G8F model. I tried applying Belle 6 and Stephanie 6's All MAT to the base model and I'm missing several skin textures for the arms, ears, etc.
All of G3F character skins I tested worked with the base G8F model.
How do I use the skin of a Gen2 figure on a Gen8 character? Let's say I want to use the skin of Belle 6 on the Gen 8 base female.
Thanks! :)
thought that one can simply apply it to other generation, so I possible do not understand your problem.
What if you load both characters in default position, fit Belle 6 to Gen 8 and hide then Gen 8 ? You get Gen 8 shape with Belle 6 surface.
I have a G8 figure loaded. I would like her to have the skin of a G2 figure. If I load the Belle skin on her (doubleclicking on the skin material; or fitting it to G8; or applying ot to G8), I get this weird result. G8 on left, G2 on right:

It looks like G3F skins work on G8F straight away -- which means that G2F skins won't work directly "out of the box" any more than they'd work on G3F. There are different products available for making the skins work directly, but honestly I think your best bet is a conversion utility -- Blacksmith 3D's texture transformer comes to mind. Convert the G2F skin to G3F, then apply it to G8F.
Honestly, just having a new Genesis figure that takes the skins of the previous generation alone's such a pleasant surprise that I'm just kind of happy.

change the UV to either belle 6 or g2 whatever the option you have is.
This looks really useful, thank you!
