I am not a total novice *2D anyway* but 3D is a whole can of goodies in its own right. I think I am understanding this making clothes all wrong. My understanding is as follows:

1. Get your model
2. Prep model in Daz to export.
3. Import said model into Hex
4... *Lost it LOL* Confused.
5. Make texture groups
6 Confused again *growl*

I went to select faces and it went wonkie on me. LOL in fact, I do not know if i select faces to "outline" mesh or if i use prims, or what LOL I totally need Daz and hex broken down "barney style"... I have way too many senior moments LOL :cheese:

And issue 2 is Daz only.
I understand dressing the model and the set, however I was wondering how to get an actual floor texture in?

Anyone willing to help is immensely appreciated,

Thanks~~

There is no floor, well geometry sense that is in Daz Studio. You can use a Plane Primative in the Create Menu, or make a terrrian in Hex, Bryce, Blender, Carrara etc, download a free ground plane, google should help there. Or lastly you could purchase some form the store. The choices are endless. :)

As for Hexagon, sorry can't help. I am a Blender man.

LOL when is a floor not a floor?

You can use the De-Former Tool inside Daz Studio to bend a plane to your will, well up to a point anyways. Try this for size http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SEBV2GHJHA and once you have watched that pop over a read this http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/17591/

Making clothing for Genesis is a lot simpler than it used to be for Gen 4 models (V4, M4 etc). You can send Genesis to Hexagon using the bridge. Once there, there are several methods for creating clothing, and there may be some stickies at the top of the Hex forum on this. Create the clothing around the Genesis model, then UV Map it, then send it back to DS and rig it with the Content Creation Tools (CCT). It should then fit any Genesis model.

That is the simple rundown on the steps. There are tutorials on ShareCG on making clothing for Genesis in particular, look for Patience55 for a start, and there is a rigging kit for sale in the store for long dresses. Modelling is not the simplest thing in the world, but Hexagon is not that difficult to learn.
