Looking for advice

Hi guys, I am in need of some help. I am currently trying to make my first "commercial" render, and I am not sure what to do. I am trying to create a Tomb-Raider-esque style render, with a female protagonist shooting enemies in a temple landscape. I originally tried to create everything in one scene, but the large amount of objects in the scene makes my computer experience severe lag, so I have decided that I need to render the protagonist, each of the enemies, and the landscape in separate scenes and then put them all together in separate layers in Clip Studio. I'd like to render each of these items so that I will have very little to no postwork needed. However, the vast amount of options for cameras, render settings, lighting ,surface materials, etc. has left me feeling overwhelmed and I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
