There are several threads on people doing just that. Basically, you need to copy the directories and then update the settings in Studio. I know I'm not much help, but I've never been able to get it to work properly, so I moved other stuff off my main and onto a second drive.
Another option (if you have the cash available) is to clone your existing drive over to a new, much larger one, and install the new drive in your system as your new 'C:' drive.
4+ TB HHDs can be had for fairly reasonable these days (less than $200 via various sale prices). SSD's are also getting quite affordable, but I'm guessing your current HDD is at least 1 TB... if you have say a 256GB drive, then yes definitely take a look at a 1 TB SSD, if you have say $400 (or a little less) available. I"d still recommend having a multi TB HDD as a storage option though!
Swapping out laptop drives can be a bit more of a challenge, but is an option depending on your skillset, and how worried you are about voiding your warranty...
Just curious, are you moving your product install files over to another HDD once they are installed (if you use Daz's Install tab or the Daz Install Manager)?
These are usually placed here:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Downloads
Unless you've designated otherwise/specified a different location for these/are doing manual installs.
Once the product is installed, you can move these files to another drive for backup purposes, but they aren't needed once you've added the packages to your Daz library. If you have a lot of installed files, moving the .zip file packages to another location can clear gigs and gigs of space...
I suppose you could delete them too, but it might be nice to have them if for some reason you need to reinstall Daz later, to save you some download time.
Unless you are using custom categories or similar, then moving the content library should be a simple matter. Close DAZ Studio, move (actually it is better to copy the library folder and contents to the new drive to avoid potential problems with security settings, then delete the original from your C: drive) the content as you wish. Once relocated, it should be a simple matter of opening DAZ Studio, open the Content Directory Manager pane, highlight each of the original DAZ Studio and Poser content paths and remove them; then add the paths to your new content library in each. Close DAZ Studio, then re-open. The database should be rebuilt and you're good to go. Well insofar as DAZ Studio itself is concerned. I use manual downloads of content, so that would be all that was required for me. However, if you are using DIM and/or Connect to download your content, you will also need to reset the install path for them to your new location. As I said, I don't use either, so perhaps someone else can chime in with advice for that.
