Materials - Genesis Items For Poser... Without Poser!

Hi guys,

The title of this thread is a little misleading since I do have Poser 8. But Poser 8 has no facility for Genesis.

I want to make textures with full material setups for clothing items intended for Genesis. I can do that for DS easily enough, but Poser is a different matter, without Poser 9 or Pro.

I was wondering if I could simply convert the item to .obj, take it to Poser 8, set up the materials and save the material file, and then users that HAVE got a relevant version of Poser could then use them on the Genesis items.

I'm hoping that makes sense, I've had codeine today!

I don't see a problem with doing that. As an alternative; there is a script that will create Poser MATs in DS. It was made for DS3; but should still work in DS4.

You will still have to go into Poser and adjust the bump; displacement and specular settings; but it's better than starting from scratch.

That's great, thanks. I've got MATWriterPanel for doing the settings from Poser to DS, but this one might work better for me.
