Installing 3rd party content

Given my problems earlier with shoes, some of you suggested it's best to unzip everything to a temp folder first and then put stuff where it's meant to go.

Good advice, but I need to know where stuff's meant to go. So a little guidance please.

There should be a .dsf file (which is a kind of master file that "calls" all the other stuff, like textures and whatever
There should be a little PNG or JPG as the icon for the content library
There should be an .OBJ or some sort of geometry file (which is the wireframe thingy)

anything else? What files are required for a prop/figure and what directories should they go in?

It really depends on the type of Content. Poser Content goes in the Proper Runtime folders and DS Content can use the DS content and the default Runtime folders.

If you check the Stickied TUT on Zip files at the top of this Forum the Third post has a link to a POSER install for Win7 OS's.
