I just bought Luxus... I have Daz4.5 (the latest version) and Daz3 running on Windows 7 with a 64 bit machine. I go to install Luxus and it won't install. It says it won't let me (screenshot attached), "

Help? Anybody? I'll give you an internet cookie?

Are you trying to install this from the products download page?

Download the installer, and run it in the normal way. Make sure you have the correct bit depth for your system, and the Mac OR PC version.

When I installed my copy, it came up with the path to the DS4.5 install folder C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4, if you have yours installed somewhere else, change the path to your new one.

Hi there - Well I downloaded the product and then tried to install the 64 bit version. (The background you're seeing there is where I never left the download page.) One of the smaller files installed fine. The big part - I'm assuming the program itself - won't install. I double checked and it is indeed pointing to the path that I have the DAZ program in. I also tried pointing it to my content folder with no success. (hands you a chocolate internet cookie as thanks for responding)

The file you should be trying to install is this one : 15891_DS4_Luxus_1.0.0.2_Win64.exe

It must go into the same folder that you have DAZ Studio installed to, and it puts in a file in the Plugins folder called Luxus.DLL. You should check in Help > About Installed Plugins, and you should see it in there in alphabetical order.

. The big part - I’m assuming the program itself - won’t install. I double checked and it is indeed pointing to the path that I have the DAZ program in.

Do you get an error message when you try to intall it, if not, it has probably installed OK, follow the advice above. If you can see it in Installed Plugins, then it is all OK.

    Note:
This plugin will NOT install to DS3, it is for DS4.5 only

    Yes, that's the one.

As I said before I checked: and it's going to my DAZ program folder. Or you'd think it was. I didn't exactly change any installation settings when I installed 4.5 except for where the content folder was, and it looks like all is there when I manually go to the folder. When I try to install it, it stops and says that it can't find a valid installation of DAZ3d (as shown with my screenshot). So I'm not even getting to install it (which I find utterly stupid that the stupid thing would even look for DAZ3d; just let me install it already. I paid for it. It's legal. DAZ3D was free - c'mon.)

Now if it won't install at all because it's not finding the DAZ program that's there when I look at it, will going to Help > Installed Plugins do me any good? I mean, it's not exactly installed.... 'll look anyway.

Okay, figured it out. It's trying to go to Program Files when it NEEDS to point to Program Files (x86). Thanks for trying! :-)

This is not a program, but a plugin for DAZ Stduio 4.5, it MUST check for DAZ Studio before it installs to the plugins folder, or there would be no point in putting it there

What version of DAZ Studio are you using, EAXCTLY. Go to Help > About DAZ Studio, and please post the FULL version number.

Can you post a screen shot of the 'previous' screen...the one showing behind the error message. It is sounding like the installer is going one level too deep or maybe not deep enough.

    What version of Windows?

If your DAZ install is in (x86) you have the 32bit version installed and you need the 32bit plugin.

Back when you installed Studio you will have had installers for the 64bit and 32bit versions. You may may have installed only one.

Thanks, RoguePilot!!! I did not know that... explains why the two different folders as well. I'd always wondered. I cannot remember what I chose when I installed Daz4.5, but I seem to think that I've got both versions installed. I don't have a very fast processor so I tend to use one for building and the other for rendering. If I'm not careful, DAZ will give me a white screen and undo all my work. You get a giant cookie for that helpful info. LOL.

Will there be a conflict if I also install the 32 bit version of the plugin? I have already installed the 64 bit.
