So I am extremely new at this, I just downloaded the free DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro and and now I can't seem to do anything with it. I can't even find the application. I used the DAZ 3D IM to download everything. If anyone could help me I would be so grateful. I'm using a Mac, not sure if that could factor into the problem or not. I have found the folder that houses all the files but the application itself seems to be missing.
On another note, I'm trying to create several different 3D heads and any tips on that would be much welcomed.

I think this might be your answer, the Installation Manager only does DAZ content, not programs. You can't find the application because you haven't downloaded it yet.
You'll have to "buy" DAZ|Studio (I know it's free, but this puts it into your account history to simplify getting updates) and download the installers manually from your account page. Note that there are both Mac and PC files, choose the right ones to download and run.
The DIM does not download or install the main program...you need to go to your account, go to the My Downloadable Products page and download the DS application for your OS and install it, before you will get it to run. Also, the DIM and the application use different default locations for content, so you will need to map the DIM installed content to the application, once it is installed (if the app were installed first it would be pretty easy to get DIM to install to it's default location).
Did you download the program (or DIM will not really know where to install the content.
Applications are in /Applications/DAZ 3D
I agree with what everyone else said. Here are full instructions for Mac users: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/entries/21429218-How-to-Download-and-Install-DAZ-Studio-4-Mac- You can skip the part about Genesis Starter Essentials, since the DAZ Install Manager should have installed that already for you.
(In case there are any Windows users reading this, here are the relevant instructions for you: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/entries/21391331-How-to-Download-and-Install-DAZ-Studio-4-Windows-)
Regarding your 3D heads...can you give more information about what you want to do? Are they human heads, animals, monsters, or something else? Realistic, toon, or anime style? Attached to a body, or not?
