Paid conversion from DAZ Studio 4.9 to Poser 10 (non-pro edition)

Hey everyone, I have a client using Poser 10 (non-pro edition).

He wanted the Genesis 3 characters for his training animations. So, I created the scene, character, clothing and animation for him in DAZ 4.9.

We have tried all tutorials, forum suggestions, etc. in vain to get that DAZ scene into his Poser 10. He is also computer-challenged...

I would like to pay someone to walk me through how to get my scene and character from DAZ to his Poser 10 (non-pro edition = cannot import FBX).

I have US$ dollars here for the first person who can successfully teach me how to do this!

Genesis 3 is not supported in Poser, I'm afraid. There are ways of getting an approximation, which is good enough for some, but it isn't really the full implementation.

There are ways to covert them to Poser 11 (look on Rendo for free plug-in and tutorials) but none I know of for Poser 10.

As Richard says there are ways to get an approximation in Poser, but it would would not be a full version of Genesis 3. You are converting the figure back to a version siimilar the Genesis 2. The tutorial on rendo will walk you through the steps to convert, but not all content will work as genesis 3 content doen't follow the devlopment steps to make some items poser compatible through the DSON importer.

You are far better off trying to use Genesis 2 figures and the DSON Importer.  I'd first try loading the scene without the figures into Poser10 using D3D's Free DSON Loader script and see how that looks before messing with the figures....

The DSON assets need to be located in a content directory that has been added to Poser's Library

There are some autofit clones which will allow Genesis 3 clothing to be autofitted to Genesis 2, but I haven't used them myself...

The Genesis 3 Male clone and morph for Genesis 2 Male by valzheimer is great for getting the genesis 3 clothing into poser, especially if you find all the converting of Genesis 3 too much -  https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-male-for-genesis-2-male-s

Sickleyield also has a clone for Genesis 1 which comes with a pdf tutorial and video and her clones are always super - https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-male-clone-for-genesis

I just bought the Genesis 3 Male clone for Genesis 2 Male you mentioned, tried it out on a pair of G3M pants, the ones in the free starter pack. It works beautifully in Studio but when I went to Poser Pro 2014 the undies no longer fit. They'd conform and I ran the transfer active morphs script but that made no difference, the cloth was still mostly buried in the figure's hip. How did you get it working in Poser? Anxious to know so I can take advantage of that 48-hour sale on guy things.

Answering my own question, it seems the DSON importer plugin is a bit of a hit or miss in both PoserPro 2014 and Poser 11.  I can load a properly Genesis 2 Male Poser compatible garment and it will not work right, then delete it, load it again, transfer the morphs like before and it will work. Same thing with my converted clothing that always worked in Poser before, now it will sometimes load & fit properly but sometimes not. No idea why, if maybe something needs an update ... or maybe a roll back to a previous version. Anyway, all is not lost, so maybe I'll splurge just a little bit on those sale items I've been drooling over all this time.

  • What about sets and envrionments? Can these be converted from Daz Studio 4.10 to Poser. I hate that Stonemason no longer supports Poser in his content, and some of his sets I really want. I need them in Poser, though, or they are of little use to me. I heard you can export OBJ with textures, but no such option appears in my Daz Studio, on Mac.
