Bustling Train Station

I just got the Abandoned Train Station, and love it.  So many details.  But now I want to see it in its hayday - the Bustling Train Station.  But I don't see that happening any time soon, so I guess I'll have to do it myself.

First step was patching the holes in the roof - they're geometry not texture, so a pair of primitives at 10 degrees will cover up the old roof.  All the lamps are spheres, which makes them convienient for putting sphere primitive emissives on top of them.  Any suggestions for what type of emissive they should be?

Next is easy - clean out all the trash and plants that have sprung up!

From there... I'm not sure.  I've got a lot of shaders.  Any ideas on how to freshen up this place?

Also (wild idea), what hoops would I have to jump through to share or sell the re-done textures?

Wow...seems like a huge undertaking!  I'll be watching to see if you make any progress on this.

Sorry I have no experience or advice to offer beyond what Jim Croce recommends.

    1.  don't tug on Superman's cape

    2.  don't spit into the wind.

    3.  don't pull the mask off the ol' Lone Ranger

    4.  don't mess around with Jim (unless your Willie McCoy)

    : )

  • I really admire you for even dreaming about doing this. My own retexturing has been on a much more modest scale such as creating tie-dye textures for clothing, custom paint jobs for guitars, and so forth.

Are you planning on using Filter Forge to generate new textures for the walls and floors and then use the UV templates as the basis of photoshopping?
