Select your female-model in the scene tab.
Go to surfaces tab and select the same female-model
Go to your content library People >> Genesis 3 Female >> Character and find your female model and her textures.
Once you find the textures then merge the textures to the scene and that should fully load the textures for that model.
TwistedZ - did you solve this? I have exactly the same problem with Ultimate Zombie/Grave Walker for Genesis 3 male.
I am using 3Delight renderer becasue my video card is not compatible with Iray.
Eyes load OK when using just the Genesis 3 figure with no add-ons.
Jaxprog's suggestion of merging of the materials for the eye into the scene makes no difference.....
A list of things to check:
Where did you acquire your product from? One can have confidence that Daz and Renderosity provides all the textures for the entire body, however product freebies and other sources may lack all textures one could expect to come with a model. Check the sources documentation.
Verify if the model has eye texture options in your content library folders in windows explorer. A typical product may have directory like this: runtime>>textures>>vendor tag>>product. For example Fred and Sabby’s structure for their products may look like this: runtime>>textures>>FWSA>>Davina
Find the product or model’s texture folder and see if there are eye part texture map files in it.
If there are eye texture maps, then check to see if its loading.
Load the model in a scene.
Go to the surfaces tab and find the model’s eye-parts, such as the iris and sclera.
Is there a UV map?
Are there any texture maps in any of the channels or properties?
If the maps are not loading, then you can load them manually by pointing to product’s file location in the runtime>>texture folder structure.
If your maps are loaded then the issue may be a shader problem and that gets a bit murky for me to trouble shoot.
If you have an add-on select it (as opposed to the character), select the add on the surfaces tab and reload the texture maps. See if that applies the textures.
Thanks for replying jaxprog. I feel bad that I have hijacked someone else's post, but I do sense that our issues may have the same underlying cause.
I bought the Grave Walker from the Daz 3D store:
https://www.daz3d.com/ultimate-zombie-for-genesis-3-bundle
The eye textures are present in the runtime directories. Thumbnails for the textures appear in the Content Library pane as soon as I select the Grave Walker - exactly as you would expect - see the attached screenshot2.jpg - but they wont load with double-click (or a drag to the Viewport).
I did manage to get somewhere by going into the Surface pane Editor and manually selecting on eof the texture .png files, and then fiddling around a bit with settings in there - but I don't know what I am doing so it is not helpful. The resulting eye now has a texture, but it is very dark, and still renders as almost black, and those eyelash stripes are still there - I don't know how to get rid of them. See screenshot3.jpg.
I am frustrated, because even though I only paid $26 for the bundle, it should surely just work "out-of-the-box" shouldn't it?
Could it be something to do with Iray (which I don't have) - or is it related to shaders?
Hope you can help or perhaps point me where to go next? Thanks.
Yes, all products should work right out of the box. Daz3D sets professional standards for all PA’s and their products.
I examined the zombie product on the daz store and saw iray textures in the written description but no mention of 3Delight textures, however that doesn’t mean that 3Delight texture options may not be available for that product. I don’t know.
If this product’s textures are all iray and you render in 3 Delight using iray shaders, then you I would say it’s a good chance you may encounter a problem. Iray is physically based rendering and the iray shaders are designed just for that. I won’t say out right 3Delight may not be able negotiate iray shaders but I will say iray shaders are not designed for 3 Delight render engine. That may be the root problem.
What limitations exist that you do not use iray?
I don't exactly know why - I kind of assumed that because Iray doesn't appear as an option in the selector in Render Settings, that means its not available to me.
But I have read elsewhere that if Iray can't invoke the extra functionality of a compatible graphics card, then it should default to using the main processor.
Is it my Daz 4.9 configuration that is damaged somehow? Is there something I should have done to install Iray rendering?
I notice that when I look at Render Settings / Presets / Iray then the options there (Iray Render Settings & Sun DIal Set) show a "broken" symbol. Something is evidently wrong...
Thanks so much for your help!
Update !
This morning, thinking about how to go around the mountain rather than through it, I remembered that I was using the 32-bit version of Daz 4.9 (again, I don't know why, just history I guess...) So I went and did a fresh install of the 64-bit Daz 4.9, knowing that my existing software would be unaffected by such a move.
And "Lo and behold!" in my fresh installation "Nvidia Iray" appears in the Render Selector, and the Grave walker model works OOTB.
3Delight renders of that model are fast and decent quality.
Iray is really slow on my Intel Core i5 with 8Gb RAM, but produces lovely renders. ( All 4 cores runing at 100% and you could barbecue a sausage on the cooling fan exhaust... )
So it looks like a damaged Daz 3D Studio installation was the culprit. If the "silver eyes" issue crops up again, perhaps a clean re-install of the Studio software is one thing to try.
Many thanks
well,at least i'm not the only 1 who have this problem XD
thanks jaxprog for your help even if it doesnt work still i appreciate it hehe
is this mean the problem is iray ?
