Problems converting a Poser prop to DAZ
I have a poser prop (.CR2 file) together with its .OBJ geometry file. I import the .CR2 into DS fine and it looks good. But when I try to save it as a prop asset it tells me I have to convert it to a weight mapped figure (whatever that is!). So I go to Edit > figure > rigging > convert figure to weight mapping and the damn thing just disappears! (this happens whether I select Tri-Ax or General)
What's going wrong?

Couple of questions:
What version of DS are you trying to save with?
What prop are you trying to convert? One of your own or a purchased one?
What type of file are you trying to save it out as? I've found that usually if I save it out in DS4.5 as a .DUF via "Save As/Support Asset/ figure/prop assets" it usually saves out for me as long as I'm pointing it to a DS Native Library.

I am trying to save it as a .DUF (which has always worked before starting from importing a .CR2 + . OBJ)
if it has moving parts, it is in fact a figure. You can save it as a scene asset and it'll work just fine without converting it to TriAx.
ah...so that's the difference between a prop and a figure! Yes, it has moving parts. So I can just save it as a scene? Could I put that in a prop directory (so I will be able to find it later?)
the scene asset option is in the same place as Figure/Prop asset
I'd save it that way, because you're going to have a geometries folder created regardless, and that'll give you control and make sure it goes under the DATA folder where it belongs.
awesome! that worked. Thanks :)
