Help with Installing/Loading Stolz the Younger, I'm doing something wrong
ETA2: I was curious so I installed the trx file into my Poser directory too and it got rid of the doubling issue, which I'm confused about because I thought from another thread you didn't have to install it in both (it's also installed in the DS directory). But still the texture is not lining up.
I attempted to run the texture on Genesis as M4 with the same problem, the texture is still not lined up at all (see the photo)
I also still however do not understand if HSS=SSS
I installed Stolz and Stolz the Younger, I intalled the files in my Poser runtime directory except for the trx files I installed in DS directory. For some reason (and I noticed this happened with something else I loaded before, but I don't remember what) everything in the library is doubled so there are tons of folders in the pose tab and I'm not sure if they are actually double because the folders have different amounts of files in them, but I'm not sure which to load. Example:
I have in Pose
Phoenix1966 > [38] Stolz >
[16] Eyes
[8] Eyes
[14] Hair
[7] Hair
and so on...
[19] Stolz
[8] Eyes
[7] Hair
and so on...
[14] Stolz_Shapes >
[4] Hair
[2] Hair
[4] Scar
[2] Scar
[4] Younger
[2] Younger
[7] Stolz_Shapes > [2] Hair
[2] Scar
[2] Younger
And subsequently of course each first set has double of everything else underneath. So I'm not sure what happened.
Secondly, even if I just choose the one with less stuff in it, I still don't understand exactly what I am supposed to select to get the Younger version with SSS for Genesis. It looks like I have to load the regular Stolz texture first and that the younger version is just the head texture? and is HSS the same thing as SSS? It seems like loading the younger texture is changing nothing. I think if everything wasn't double it would be easier to figure out.
Thanks
ETA: even more problems, when I rendered it, it's apparent that I did something wrong because the texture is 1. not lined up and 2. I'm not sure the morph even looks right.

Hi scullygirl818,
I don't own this character (yet) so I can't help with some of these questions, but I'll try to clear up some of the definitions, anyway.
HSS is the Elite Human Surface Shader, which is included with DAZ Studio. Shaders affect the way light reacts with a surface, and the Elite Human Surface Shader is one of the better options for DAZ Studio as far as realistic skin is concerned.
SSS is Sub-Surface Scattering. It means the way that some things (like skin) are somewhat translucent, and when light shines on the surface, it will scatter under the surface, illuminating some of the inside. In terms of 3D rendering, a skin texture with SSS will probably look somewhat more realistic than one without. Both DAZ Studio and Poser can do SSS, but (I think) when you see a product advertised as having an SSS option, it usually means for use in recent versions of Poser. If you want to use subsurface scattering in DAZ Studio, the texture should have materials settings that make use of the Elite Human Surface Shader (EHSS or HSS) or the Ubersurface shader.
So SSS and HSS are not the same thing, but they are related in that HSS lets you use sub-surface scattering in DAZ Studio.
The issue of the texture not being lined up right: not sure if this is what is happening here, but usually that's due to Genesis using the wrong UV set. Are you using this character in Poser, or DAZ Studio? If DAZ Studio, select Genesis, go to the Surfaces tab, select Genesis again in that tab, find the UV Set dropdown from the list of options, and set it to Michael 4. If Poser, I know there's a handy UV-switching tool for Poser available at mec4d.com, but I'm not personally familiar with the process.
You can find documentation on Stolz here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/15498/start
and Stolz the Younger here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/15503/start
If you're still having trouble getting the character to install and/or load properly, let us know what process you're using and we may be able to point out where the issue is (as I said, I don't have Stolz yet, but I do have some other phoenix1966 characters, and I assume Stolz probably works in a similar way). Alternatively, you may wish to contact the artist (phoenix1966) via PM.
