Locking items

If there a way to lock cameras and figures after you've animated them, so you won't inadvertently change them why animating something else?

I think the best way is to create an NLA track when your animation is done, this is also possible for your camera, but try to use the director's camera to work in your scene.

  • A simple way to do it: You can "lock" figures after you animated them by selecting an animated figure and then creating a group (strg + g  grouping works with single objects too). Then close the group. With the group selected go to "constraint" and select "lock". When you keep the group closed (!) you can't select the figure anymore but only the locked group, which can't be moved. The figure stays animated. Works with cameras too, but pay attention: only when you are in the directors camera view or using another inserted camera. When using the (grouped) animated camera view any motion will be recorded nevertheless.
