Trying to line up my LIE
Hey Daz community,
Having a bit of trouble with LIE.
I'm going into the Layered Image Editor and manually lining up Geshia but I'm so off.
What am I doing wrong?
Have read this link
http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=147092
but I think it's unrelated
Also her face is quiet blue even when I make white my resource colour

Does the overlay use the same UV layout as the base texture?
Hi Richard,
The top layer (Geshia) is Genesis UV set but I don't know how to work out her under lying texture
Working in Actors,Wardrobe and Props is colourless for me until I switch over to Pose and Animate.
Is there a button that will give me colour to see what I'm working with?
Have you tried some of the other layer blend modes in Lie. ;)
Theer should be a little sphere in the top-right corner, next to the menu button there, that will let you pick preview mode - or press ctrl-9 to switch to texture preview.
The button Richard is talking about seems to be missing in your theme. Perhaps you need to reset your theme, or, maybe someone knows how to re-enable it in your current theme. The shortcut key mentioned should fix it, but you want that button back I would think. What you currently have is a preview as 'Smooth Shaded' when what you want is 'Texture Shaded' usually. The other modes do come in handy though so you want to be able to switch between them. Lit Wireframe for instance is very handy at times.
Also, as Richard mentioned, the original problem seems to be that you have a different uv set on the character then what the texture was made for.
Hi Richard,Gedd and Szark,
Sorry for the delay..needed a sleep after that Daz eyeball drying moment.
Ok,Richard and Gedd, found the button for playing with colour...thank you,it makes such a difference.
Just when you think you've played with every command, another makes sense and appears.
Ok-2nd part
I've set UV to Genesis and it doesnt seem to make much difference.
I'm thinking it's because I've modified Genesis...different eyes,mouth,nose etc? Maybe?
Szark-I've tried a few different LIEs from the Geshia series and seem to have the same problem with the lips.
It's like they're too big for her mouth and certainly not the geshia red strip...head is lining up though
Hmm puzzled???
can we have a link to the product so we are all talking about the same thing please.
Sure Szark,

Wonder if it's because it's for Aiko 5 even though it's Genesis supported
Can move the colour up and down using Horizontal and Vertical tiles but can't get that red off her chin.
Could fix it in photoshop but thought I may come across this problem again.
Plus I'm sure there's an easier solution
Humm I am baffled sorry. I don't have Aiko 5 or this product so I cannot check. But have done a bit of LIE work in DS4.5.1.56 recently and didn't have a problem using Genesis with M4 textures and uvmapping mode.
Yeah,weird one.
I'll keep playing around with it.
And when you do you often strike gold..then can't remember how you did it..ahh Daz
Thank you so much for your help though.
It's your help that's keeps us going:-)
I am not a LIE expert as it is only recently I have been playing more with it and I haven't had this issue at all.
So when you see the full texture in the LIE window the overlay is lined up but as soon as you Accept it goes all wonky..is that correct.
That's correct
I am guessing that it requires the Aiko 5 UV map and that the 'Genesis' support is a mistake, but I don't have the products so I can't test.
And I'd say you're probably right Gedd...i've tried everything
Still trying and lips are rendering white plus it's quiet a "fuzzy" render.
Hopefully I'll crack it soon
I'll sleep on it and see if something comes to me.
The suns coming up here and I'm starting to become a Daz vampire.
Big,big thanks for sticking with me:-)
Not only does the UV set have to be correct but both maps have to be for that UV set - are you using two maps from the Geisha set, or is one from elsewhere?
Hi Richard,
Yes 2 maps and one from another head texture.
Tried making them same document size, manually lining them up,toning down the opacity.
I've noticed also adding a tattoo to her back comes up split down the middle.
Guessing it's not meant to be...shame I had high hopes for her.
Or i'll photoshop the crap out of her.
Don't like the way she renders..dull and not sharp at all
