Hello all and hope your week is going smoothly.
I was wondering if someone could help me with DSON IMPORTER for POSER
I have it installed to poser correctly but for some reason when I try to import something out of DAZ Studios into Poser I get an error msg.
I dont really know DAZ Studio that well yet but do know my way around Poser.
I installed the following item into Poser and DAZ Studio 4 http://www.daz3d.com/chambre-damore
When I try to use the DSON IMPORTER to bring into Poser I get the following error msg
Can some one please tell me what that means?
    Thanks

The DSON comes with Genesis Starter Essentials and Poser Companion files.

If you do not have DS4 or 4.5 installed on your system, create an external runtime as you normally would and install both the Genesis Starter Essentials and the Poser Companion Files.

When you install the Genesis Starter Essentials, you will be asked if you want to install the DAZ Studio 4.x files. If you do not have a version of DS4 installed, you must install these files or the DSON will not work properly.

You can install the Genesis Starter Essentials and the Poser Companion files to the main Poser runtime if you wish.

If you create a separate runtime, you need to add it to the Poser library the same as you would any other external runtime.

The DSON requires the latest service release for Poser which is SR3.1. If you did not update to 3.1 before installing the DSON, you will need to uninstall the DSON, install SR3.1 and then install the DSON plugin, the Genesis Starter Essentials and the Poser Companion files.

Your screen shot is confusing. Are you trying to use Genesis products on V4 in Poser?

If you are, it won't work.

Did you change the default location of the cache and writeable runtime folders for the DSON prefs?

DSON isn't installed to my workstation Pro version as the company doesn't want unnecessary and unauthorized scripts added to their app so I can't check but I know the cache folder usually defaults to the Poser app data folder (which is where you should let it as Poser is happiest that way) and IIRC, the writeable runtime folder defaults to the external runtime. If you shove everything into the DS folder, things will get way too messy.

What is the log file telling you?

Ok guys I found out what the problem was.
In poser you have to add a direct link to the My Library folder in your documents folder that DAZ Studios automaticly makes when you install it.
This is done by clicking on the little folder to your Poser Library; once you have done that youre good to go

    Thanks for all your help
