Need help with wardrobe

edited December 1969 in New Users

I downloaded Daz last month and I have been trying to make "costumes" for my avatars. I was able to change the color on the outfit for the anime sci fi avatar but that was as far as I could go. I am using Daz to make a movie since the graphics (from what ive seen in youtube videos) look much better and more realistic than Kaneva (i was originally going to use kaneva for the movie making).

But even still, I went further as to download the Marvelous designer trial program and I was able to make some outfits. But I can't get them to FIT the daz avatars or models. And when I import a daz model, I have trouble getting the virtual cloth to mold around the avatar in order to make new costumes.

Is there another program compatible with daz (marvelous designer can save stuff for the daz files) or some steps i can do in daz to create my own work? I would like to make this movie using my own creations and not someone elses. Can you please help me figure this out? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Clothing needs to be 'rigged', in other words it needs to have bones added to make it conforming clothing. You cannot make your own dynamic clothing in DAZ Studio.

If you are using MD, you need to export the mesh file as an OBJ from MD I believe, import it to DAZ Studio, and then rig the model for the character you hve made the clothing for. What character ar you using?

Please have a look at this thread, which is all about making clothing.

You will also need to export Genesis or which ever figure you are using, as an object so as to load it into MD as an Avatar to mold your clothes to.

Thank you very much for answering so quickly. For my two main female characters, I am using the daz Aiko 3 LE. The model is more anime like and I need my two "heros" to stand out. for other female characters I am using blmilWom_V3_72712. As for the men in this project, I am using michael 3 sr1. Its pretty hard to make this project of mine becuase im new to the whole 3d animations and stuff. I will browse the threads right now and see what I can learn. Again, thank you for the help ^.^
