As part of practicing my modeling, texturing, rigging and packaging workflow, I built a simple wall clock.
Enjoy!

Looks nice. Thank you.
Very nicely done, Jack. Thank you!
Nice job. I'll have to look at WalMart or somewhere for one like that for my living room.
This looks really nice. Great work. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this generious offer Jack now does this have to be rendered in IRay only or can it be done in 3Delight as well??
The materials provided are Iray. I guess they could be converted to 3Delight - they're relatively simple materials.

Thanks there!
thank you TabascoJack
just trying to animate an hour so minute hand hands goes from 12 to 12
hour hand from say 6 to 7
both rotations by default start at 6
so i have to toggle off limits
so maybe think of animators trying to simulate 12 hours ?
but sure a nice one to have
in this little clock animation you can also see mcasuals matanim script working
mrmanjaco thats me on vimeo yes
dear mcasual if you read this
is there a way to animate the dome rotation in render settings environment ?
nice & clean design, thank you :)
"can it be done in 3Delight as well"
Pretty simple, Saph. The easiest is to simply swap the Iray materials in the Surfaces tab for appropriate 3Delight shaders. An excellent little exercise with a model that is moderately complex such as this, with multiple material zones, for anyone wanting some experience messing with the material settings. Here is a render of the clock done using 3Delight to emulate the stock look that Jack shows. I used two free shader packages for 3Delight to do this:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/27568/material-and-shader/Ultimate-Shader-Pack-for-DAZ-Studio
https://morganrlewis.deviantart.com/art/Glass-Shader-Presets-for-Daz-Studio-86711865
Many others are available, of course.
I simply selected the Hour Hand, Minute Hand, HubMetal and Markers material zones under the Surfaces tab and applied a metal shader from the above packages (Chrome Metals > Silver 2 Chrome), then selected the Glass material zone and applied one of the glass shaders from the other package (muted cyan).
Of course you could use any appropriate shader for 3Delight you wished, and/or select any of the materials included in the packages to customize your clock.
"Resistance is futile. This clock will be assimulated..." :D
Thank you SixDs for the how to lesson and the great render to show me
And is it + Commercial & Privite use , then ?? Thanx
Ya I just checked and no readme, hopefully they will see your question, cause I would like to know as well.
Alright then + Thanx
